8 Innovative And Must-Have Mobile Applications Of 2016

Don’t we all love social media!? Be it Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, our day just cannot end without it. But then there are apps that joined the bandwagon and are now seen in our recently downloaded list namely Snapchat, Whatsapp, Vine, Pinterest etc. These newly introduced apps have taken over the internet by storm. But is that all? Well not really, here are some new apps that are doing the rounds and could be quite a threat or maybe not.

1. Yik Yak

I must admit that Yik Yak is a fun app. This app allows you to review a place and not just a restaurant or a club. All you have to do is share your thoughts about the place that you are in right now and people nearby can read it. This is what makes it fun especially for students and tourists around. They get to know about the place and your posts can get upvoted if liked by a lot of people and it will feature on top of your feed.

You can also take a look at what’s being posted in other locations. Go ahead and give it a try. If you find something interesting to share, don’t hesitate to type it out in the comments below.

2. Timehop

As the name suggests, you can actually hop through time. Have you heard of Facebook Memories? It’s similar to that. But here you don’t have to rely on Facebook to show you your memory. All you have to do is sync your social media accounts to Timehop and the app shows you what you shared online a year ago, two years ago, and even further back.

It is a digital archive of your life. Now isn’t that fun.

3. Tinder

It’s time to wish goodbye to those old school boring dating apps like OkCupid and others. It’s time to upgrade to a simple swipe. I’m sure you already have an account there but for the ones who don’t, here is what you guys are missing on. All you have to do is create an account and switch on your GPS and voila, you will find men and women around you waiting for you to swipe left or right. You can see images and read about them in the bio and swipe right if he/she interests you. Now isn’t that fun. Go ahead and give it a try. You might find the right match today.

4. WeChat

A very popular app in China, this app is a must try. It’s unlikely that you use — or perhaps have even heard of therefore let me take the liberty to introduce you, to this app. With over 600 million users WeChat is one of the largest messaging apps in the world and it isn’t an app just to chat. You can do so many cool things on it. You can play games, send money to people, make video calls, hail a taxi, order food, buy movie tickets, read the news, book a doctor’s appointment, and more. Do you need more reasons to try this today?

5. Peach

Developed by the co-founder of Vine, this app is specially made for iOS users. This latest social network app has married smaller elements from our favourite apps into a single app. It’s a combination of Facebook, Path, Slack, Snapchat and Tumblr all rolled into one. Now that’s one app we all need to try. If you have already tried it out, do let us know your review in the comments below.

6. Wanelo

One of the apps that I have recently stumbled upon and quite addicted to. It is a whole new level of shopping experience. The fun part is that its name is derived from the phrase “Want, Need, Love”. Isn’t that aww-some? It features products from plethora of brands to choose from and not just brand but also individual sellers. Fun part is, you can see what your friends have favorited and you can add it to your wishlist or cart. Isn’t that sneaky! 😛

7. Periscope

I’m sure you have heard of this app but wondered what it does and maybe you gave it a miss. But, it’s a fun app to download. What’s fun about it, you ask? You can live stream videos to your followers and people worldwide can see videos from across the globe. All you have to do is sync your twitter account and you are ready to live stream. It streams videos to your twitter followers and to other periscope users. Isn’t that fun now?

8. Kik

Now how can I mention Yik Yak and not Kik. You ask what’s so fun about Kik? The fun thing is you don’t need a phone number to use this messaging app. All you would need is a username and password and obviously an internet connection to use Kik. Now wouldn’t that be an awesome thing to ask people “What’s your kik?”

It’s time to pick up those phones and give the mentioned apps a try. Do tell us which one you like the best.
