Celebrating World Yoga Day, WFH-Style with Mind-Bending Asanas

Taking Yoga Day to another level with the hilarious WFH Edition of Chimp Yoga

Another year, another Yoga Day but NOT the same celebration, we’ll shed light on the ‘why’ in a bit. But hold on, what is the significance of  ‘World Yoga Day?’ Who are we kidding?

Y’all know the benefits of yoga. Let’s dive into some GK.

FYI, you can totally skip the next paragraph (No apologies for the FLEX)

Let’s begin! Lord Shiva is believed to have imparted the knowledge of yoga to the world. June 21 is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere, and the idea to mark it as the International Yoga Day was proposed by our Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. He presented the concept to the United Nations General Assembly in 2014. Out of the 193 member states of the United Nations, the proposal was approved by 177 co-sponsoring countries. And finally, in 2015, June 21 was adopted as the International Day of Yoga by the United Nations. Don’t worry, this isn’t a WhatsApp forward. We bet you were today years old when you found out about this one.

So here’s the beginning!

We previously compiled a chucklesome series of Asanas into ‘Agency Yoga’ starring our mascot Chimp. These Asanas were curated to make every member of an advertising agency laugh. Don’t believe us? Take a look at these hilariously relatable Asanas.

Evolving with the global situation, we refreshed our previous idea to adapt for all. What better way to pay a tribute to those stressed-out minds than showering some relatable humor? This year’s Work From Home Edition of Asanas was curated for all the WFH heroes, who have been knowingly or unknowingly practicing Yoga.

How different are these from the traditional Asanas you ask? Well, we just Yoga-fied your day at work. Wait, your day at home, working, and outlined the brighter side of Working From Home. Take a look!

1) The Zoom-Asana

Slaying the semi-casual attire like never before

2) The Mute-Asana

Muting when you need to break wind,  just got easier

3) The Power Nap-Asana

Drifting off to a different world in 10 (ahem) minutes (You know it’s more than 10)

4) The Cafe-Asana

Pretending to be on the show ‘Koffee with KRIs’

5) The Couch-Asana

Embracing the potato in you without curling up

6) The Clock Out-Asana

Waiting to say ‘Y’all still need me or can I clock out?’

So there you go, folks! Keep rolling with them Asanas. While we are hardly trying to make a quip with these posts, we’d love to see you get some real Yoga that helps you be more efficient & productive at work.
